Some people, especially those with status, will shudder at the though of flying another airline where they have no status, let alone a low cost carrier where you get nothing. There is no priority check-in, no lounge to relax in beforehand, and no speedy boarding via the dedicated lanes.
You are travelling exactly how the majority of people do! There is an upside though, some very cheap fares. Recently one of our forum members, “munitalP”, took himself and his wife on a Scoot flight to Singapore from Sydney.
MunitalP is a Qantas Platinum, who has flown that much to earn Lifetime Gold status, clocking up over 1500 flights. So as you can imagine he has spent a lot of time in the air over the years. You may be wondering then what possessed him to fly Scoot, price was the main factor – $99 one way per person! by the time he added some luggage and up front seating, it was around $200 each. Not a bad deal in anyone’s book.
Overall he was pretty impressed with the service and the hard product offered, noting the seats had “solid armrests, decent width” and the overhead bin storage was policed saying “Scoot FAs were efficient in ensuring people placed their bags in their own areas – militant in fact (QF & VA take note!)”.
The only complaint was the apparent lack of RSA – responsible serving of alcohol. A complaint was filed which he did receive a response back. Unfortunately some people on flights still think drinking as much as you can for 6 hours and making a fool of yourself is how you travel. Hopefully Scoot take RSA more seriously in the furture
So would they fly Scoot again? The answer was Yes.
